Introduction
Background:
Akudo (YC21), a neo-bank in India that’s all about teaching teens how to manage their money, hired me as their Design Manager. They offer awesome Visa cards 💳 specifically for teens, making it easier for them to learn about finances. I got to dive into their app and make some major changes and launch the offers section. It was a pretty sweet gig that really helped boost user engagement and make the business a lot more successful.

Goal 🎯 :
The goal was to implement the offers section to ensure higher user engagement, increased GTV, and improved user satisfaction about the key pain points brought to light from user feedback and competitive analysis.

Problem Statement
User pain-points:
Through user research and feedback analysis, several key pain points emerged that highlighted areas for improvement in the user experience.
- Lack of Personalisation 🧩 :
Users were not pleased with the generic offers irrelevant to their preferences.
- Need for Savings 💰 :
They wanted more discounts and deals, and they weren’t shy about saying it, as many comments in both the Play Store and App Store reflected.
- Rewards, rewards, rewards 💝 :
Users were really hoping for a system where they could earn points and use them for cool stuff.
Business Goals:
As part of the new feature launch, we set key business goals to drive growth, increase user activity, and enhance overall engagement with the app.
- Increase GTV 💸 :
We needed to get users to drive higher transaction values, which would directly contribute to the company's revenue and profitability.
- Attract and retain users 😍 :
We wanted to attract new users to the app and keep existing users engaged and loyal, which would lead to long-term growth and success.
- Enhance app launch frequency 🚀 :
We wanted users to use the app more frequently, which would increase user engagement and provide more opportunities for monetization.
